³⁴ He brought them into his house, set a meal before them, and rejoiced because he had come to believe in God with his entire household.^(A)

²⁵ So take courage, men, because I believe God that it will be just the way it was told to me.^(A)

³ For what does the Scripture say? Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him for righteousness.^[a](A)

¹⁷ As it is written: I have made you the father of many nations^[a](A)—in the presence of the God in whom he believed,the one who gives life to the dead^(B) and calls^(C) things into existence that do not exist.^(D)

²⁴ but also for us. It will be credited to us who believe in him^(A) who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.^(B)

⁶ just like Abraham who believed God,^(A) and it was credited to him for righteousness?^[a](B)

⁸ This saying is trustworthy.^(A) I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed God might be careful to devote themselves to good works. These are good and profitable for everyone.

²³ and the Scripture was fulfilled that says, Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,^[a](A) and he was called God’s friend.^(B)

¹⁰ The one who believes in the Son of God has this testimony within himself. The one who does not believe God has made him a liar,^(A) because he has not believed in the testimony God has given about his Son.
