² and asked for ^(A)letters from him to ^(B)the synagogues in ^(C)Damascus, so that if he found any belonging to ^[a](D)the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them in shackles to Jerusalem.

⁹ But when ^(A)some were becoming hardened and disobedient, speaking evil of ^[a](B)the Way before the ^[b]people, he withdrew from them and took ^(C)the disciples away with him, and had discussions daily in the school of Tyrannus.

²³ About that time ^[a]a major disturbance occurred in regard to ^[b](A)the Way.

^4 (A)I persecuted this ^(B)Way to the death, binding and putting both men and women into prisons,

¹⁴ But I confess this to you, that in accordance with ^[a](A)the Way, which they call a ^(B)sect, I do serve ^(C)the God of our fathers, ^(D)believing everything that is in accordance with the Law and is written in the Prophets;

²² But Felix, ^[a]having quite accurate knowledge about ^[b](A)the Way, adjourned them, saying, “When Lysias the commander comes down, I will decide your case.”
