(H)A [d]prayer of a righteous person, when it is [e]brought about, can accomplish much. 17 Elijah was (I)a man with a nature like ours, and (J)he prayed [f]earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for (K)three years and six months. 18 Then he (L)prayed again, and (M)the sky [g]poured rain and the earth produced its fruit.
19 My brothers and sisters, (N)if anyone among you strays from (O)the truth and someone turns him back, 20 let him know that the one who has turned a sinner from the error of his way will (P)save his soul from death and (Q)cover a multitude of sins.

14 Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders(A) of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil(B) in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith(C) will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins(D) to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.(E) The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.(F)
17 Elijah was a human being, even as we are.(G) He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years.(H) 18 Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.(I)
19 My brothers and sisters, if one of you should wander from the truth(J) and someone should bring that person back,(K) 20 remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save(L) them from death and cover over a multitude of sins.(M)
