28 For (A)it seemed good to (B)the Holy Spirit and to (C)us to lay upon you no greater burden than these essentials: 29 that you abstain from (D)things sacrificed to idols, from (E)blood, from (F)things strangled, and from (G)acts of sexual immorality; [a]if you keep yourselves free from such things, you will do well. The Voice
28 It has seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to keep you free from all burdens except these four: 29 abstain from anything sacrificed to idols, from blood, from food killed by strangling, and from sexual immorality. Avoid these things, and you will be just fine. Farewell.
Acts 15:28-29
Easy-to-Read Version
28 We agree with the Holy Spirit that you should have no more burdens, except for these necessary things:
29 Don’t eat food that has been given to idols.
Don’t eat meat from animals that have been strangled or any meat that still has the blood in it.
Don’t be involved in sexual sin.
If you stay away from these, you will do well.
We say goodbye now.
