21 And after that they desired a king, and God gave to them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for 40 years. 22 And after he had put him down, he set up David to be their king, of whom he reported, saying: I have found David the son of Jesse to be a man after my own heart. He will fulfil all my will.

New International Version
21 Then the people asked for a king,(A) and he gave them Saul(B) son of Kish, of the tribe of Benjamin,(C) who ruled forty years. 22 After removing Saul,(D) he made David their king.(E) God testified concerning him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart;(F) he will do everything I want him to do.’(G)
23 “From this man’s descendants(H) God has brought to Israel the Savior(I) Jesus,(J) as he promised.(K)
