14 But going on from Perga, they arrived at (A)Pisidian (B)Antioch, and on (C)the Sabbath day they went into (D)the synagogue and sat down. 15 After (E)the reading of the Law and (F)the Prophets, (G)the synagogue officials sent word to them, saying, “[a]Brothers, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, say it.” 16 Paul stood up, and (H)motioning with his hand said,
“Men of Israel, and (I)you who fear God, listen: 17 The God of this people Israel (J)chose our fathers and [b](K)made the people great during their stay in the land of Egypt, and with an uplifted arm (L)He led them out from it. 18 For (M)a period of about forty years (N)He put up with them in the wilderness. 19 (O)When He had destroyed (P)seven nations in the land of Canaan, He (Q)distributed their land as an inheritance—all of which took (R)about 450 years. 20 After these things He (S)gave them judges until (T)Samuel the prophet. 21 Then they (U)asked for a king, and God gave them (V)Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years. 22 After He had (W)removed him, He raised up David to be their king, concerning whom He also testified and said, ‘(X)I have found David, the son of Jesse, a man after My heart, who will do all My [c]will.’ 23 (Y)From the descendants of this man, (Z)according to promise, God has brought to Israel (AA)a Savior, Jesus, 24 after (AB)John had proclaimed, before [d]His coming, a (AC)baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel. 25 And while John (AD)was completing his course, (AE)he kept saying, ‘What do you suppose that I am? I am not He. But behold, one is coming after me, the sandals of whose feet I am not worthy to untie.’
26 “[e]Brothers, sons of Abraham’s family, and those among you who fear God, to us the message of (AF)this salvation has been sent. 27 For those who live in Jerusalem, and their (AG)rulers, (AH)recognizing neither Him nor the [f]declarations of (AI)the prophets which are (AJ)read every Sabbath, fulfilled these by condemning Him. 28 And though they found no grounds for putting Him to death, they (AK)asked Pilate that He be executed. 29 When they had (AL)carried out everything that was written concerning Him, (AM)they took Him down from the [g](AN)cross and (AO)laid Him in a tomb. 30 But God (AP)raised Him from the dead; 31 and for many days (AQ)He appeared to those who came up with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem, the very ones who are now (AR)His witnesses to the people. 32 And we (AS)preach to you the good news of (AT)the promise made to the fathers, 33 that God has fulfilled this promise to those of us who are the descendants by (AU)raising Jesus, as it is also written in the second Psalm: ‘(AV)You are My Son; today I have fathered You.’ 34 As for the fact that He (AW)raised Him from the dead, never again to return to decay, He has spoken in this way: ‘(AX)I will give you the holy and faithful mercies of David.’ 35 Therefore, He also says in another Psalm: ‘(AY)You will not [h]allow Your [i]Holy One to [j]undergo decay.’ 36 For (AZ)David, after he had [k]served God’s (BA)purpose in his own generation, (BB)fell asleep, and was [l]buried among his fathers and [m]underwent decay; 37 but He whom God (BC)raised did not [n]undergo decay. 38 Therefore let it be known to you, [o]brothers, that (BD)through [p]Him forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, 39 and [q]through Him (BE)everyone who believes is [r]freed [s]from all things, from which you could not be [t]freed [u]through the Law of Moses.

14 From Perga they went on to Pisidian Antioch.(A) On the Sabbath(B) they entered the synagogue(C) and sat down. 15 After the reading from the Law(D) and the Prophets, the leaders of the synagogue sent word to them, saying, “Brothers, if you have a word of exhortation for the people, please speak.”
16 Standing up, Paul motioned with his hand(E) and said: “Fellow Israelites and you Gentiles who worship God, listen to me! 17 The God of the people of Israel chose our ancestors; he made the people prosper during their stay in Egypt; with mighty power he led them out of that country;(F) 18 for about forty years he endured their conduct[a](G) in the wilderness;(H) 19 and he overthrew seven nations in Canaan,(I) giving their land to his people(J) as their inheritance.(K) 20 All this took about 450 years.
“After this, God gave them judges(L) until the time of Samuel the prophet.(M) 21 Then the people asked for a king,(N) and he gave them Saul(O) son of Kish, of the tribe of Benjamin,(P) who ruled forty years. 22 After removing Saul,(Q) he made David their king.(R) God testified concerning him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart;(S) he will do everything I want him to do.’(T)
23 “From this man’s descendants(U) God has brought to Israel the Savior(V) Jesus,(W) as he promised.(X) 24 Before the coming of Jesus, John preached repentance and baptism to all the people of Israel.(Y) 25 As John was completing his work,(Z) he said: ‘Who do you suppose I am? I am not the one you are looking for.(AA) But there is one coming after me whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.’(AB)
26 “Fellow children of Abraham(AC) and you God-fearing Gentiles, it is to us that this message of salvation(AD) has been sent. 27 The people of Jerusalem and their rulers did not recognize Jesus,(AE) yet in condemning him they fulfilled the words of the prophets(AF) that are read every Sabbath. 28 Though they found no proper ground for a death sentence, they asked Pilate to have him executed.(AG) 29 When they had carried out all that was written about him,(AH) they took him down from the cross(AI) and laid him in a tomb.(AJ) 30 But God raised him from the dead,(AK) 31 and for many days he was seen by those who had traveled with him from Galilee to Jerusalem.(AL) They are now his witnesses(AM) to our people.
32 “We tell you the good news:(AN) What God promised our ancestors(AO) 33 he has fulfilled for us, their children, by raising up Jesus.(AP) As it is written in the second Psalm:
34 God raised him from the dead so that he will never be subject to decay. As God has said,
35 So it is also stated elsewhere:
36 “Now when David had served God’s purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep;(AT) he was buried with his ancestors(AU) and his body decayed. 37 But the one whom God raised from the dead(AV) did not see decay.
38 “Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you.(AW) 39 Through him everyone who believes(AX) is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses.(AY)

14 But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and sat down.
15 And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, Ye men and brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.
16 Then Paul stood up, and beckoning with his hand said, Men of Israel, and ye that fear God, give audience.
17 The God of this people of Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and with an high arm brought he them out of it.
18 And about the time of forty years suffered he their manners in the wilderness.
19 And when he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Chanaan, he divided their land to them by lot.
20 And after that he gave unto them judges about the space of four hundred and fifty years, until Samuel the prophet.
21 And afterward they desired a king: and God gave unto them Saul the son of Cis, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, by the space of forty years.
22 And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave their testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.
23 Of this man's seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:
24 When John had first preached before his coming the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.
25 And as John fulfilled his course, he said, Whom think ye that I am? I am not he. But, behold, there cometh one after me, whose shoes of his feet I am not worthy to loose.
26 Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent.
27 For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him.
28 And though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain.
29 And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre.
30 But God raised him from the dead:
31 And he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people.
32 And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers,
33 God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.
34 And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.
35 Wherefore he saith also in another psalm, Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
36 For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:
37 But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.
38 Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:
39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.
