45 All the circumcised believers who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles. 46 For they heard them talking in [unknown] tongues (languages) and exalting and magnifying and praising God. Then Peter said, 47 “Can anyone refuse water for these people to be baptized, since they have received the Holy Spirit just as we did?”

45 The circumcised believers who had come with Peter(A) were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out(B) even on Gentiles.(C) 46 For they heard them speaking in tongues[a](D) and praising God.
Then Peter said, 47 “Surely no one can stand in the way of their being baptized with water.(E) They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have.”(F)
