39 We are (A)witnesses of all the things that He did both in the [a]country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They also put Him to death by hanging Him on [b](B)a cross. 40 (C)God raised Him up on the third day and granted that He [c]be revealed, 41 (D)not to all the people, but to (E)witnesses who had been chosen beforehand by God, that is, to us (F)who ate and drank with Him after He arose from the dead.

They killed him by hanging him on a cross,(B) 40 but God raised him from the dead(C) on the third day and caused him to be seen. 41 He was not seen by all the people,(D) but by witnesses whom God had already chosen—by us who ate(E) and drank with him after he rose from the dead.
