⁸ But do not let this one fact escape your notice, ^(A)beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and ^(B)a thousand years like one day. ^9 (C)The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but ^(D)is patient toward you, ^(E)not willing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance.

A New Heaven and Earth

¹⁰ But ^(F)the day of the Lord ^(G)will come like a thief, in which ^(H)the heavens ^(I)will pass away with a roar and the ^(J)elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and ^(K)the earth and ^[a]its works will be ^[b]discovered.

⁴ Then I saw ^(A)thrones, and ^(B)they sat on them, and ^(C)judgment was given to them. And I saw ^(D)the souls of those who had been beheaded because of ^[a]their ^(E)testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not ^(F)worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the ^(G)mark on their foreheads and on their hands; and they ^(H)came to life and ^(I)reigned with Christ for a thousand years. ⁵ The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were completed. ^(J)This is the first resurrection.
