7 Therefore, since we have these promises,^(A) dear friends,^(B) let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness^(C) out of reverence for God.

⁴⁸ Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.^(A)

¹⁸ Flee from sexual immorality.^(A) All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body.^{(B) 19} Do you not know that your bodies are temples^(C) of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;^{(D) 20} you were bought at a price.^(E) Therefore honor God with your bodies.^(F)

No Other Gospel

⁶ I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called^(A) you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel^(B)— ⁷ which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion^(C) and are trying to pervert^(D) the gospel of Christ.

¹¹ So Christ himself gave^(A) the apostles,^(B) the prophets,^(C) the evangelists,^(D) the pastors and teachers,^{(E) 12} to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ^(F) may be built up^{(G) 13} until we all reach unity^(H) in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God^(I) and become mature,^(J) attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.^(K)

¹⁸ For, as I have often told you before and now tell you again even with tears,^(A) many live as enemies of the cross of Christ.^{(B) 19} Their destiny^(C) is destruction, their god is their stomach,^(D) and their glory is in their shame.^(E) Their mind is set on earthly things.^(F)

¹⁵ But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do;^{(A) 16} for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”^[a](B)

¹⁷ Since you call on a Father^(C) who judges each person’s work^(D) impartially,^(E) live out your time as foreigners^(F) here in reverent fear.^{(G) 18} For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed^(H) from the empty way of life^(I) handed down to you from your ancestors, ¹⁹ but with the precious blood^(J) of Christ, a lamb^(K) without blemish or defect.^{(L) 20} He was chosen before the creation of the world,^(M) but was revealed in these last times^(N) for your sake. ²¹ Through him you believe in God,^(O) who raised him from the dead^(P) and glorified him,^(Q) and so your faith and hope^(R) are in God.

²² Now that you have purified^(S) yourselves by obeying^(T) the truth so that you have sincere love for each other, love one another deeply,^(U) from the heart.^{[b] 23} For you have been born again,^(V) not of perishable seed, but of imperishable,^(W) through the living and enduring word of God.^(X)
