17 and their word will [a]eat as doth a gangrene: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; 18 men who concerning the truth have [b]erred, saying that [c]the resurrection is past already, and overthrow the faith of some.

New International Version
17 Their teaching will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus(A) and Philetus, 18 who have departed from the truth. They say that the resurrection has already taken place,(B) and they destroy the faith of some.(C)
