God’s Final Word in His Son

1 God, after He ^(A)spoke long ago to the fathers in ^(B)the prophets in many portions and ^(C)in many ways, ^2 [a](D)in these last days ^(E)has spoken to us ^[b]in His ^(F)Son, whom He appointed ^(G)heir of all things, ^(H)through whom He also made the ^[c](I)world.

The Incarnate Word

1 What was ^(A)from the beginning, what we have ^(B)heard, what we have ^(C)seen with our eyes, what we ^(D)have looked at and ^(E)touched with our hands, concerning the ^(F)Word of Life— ² and ^(G)the life was revealed, and we have ^(H)seen and ^(I)testify and proclaim to you ^(J)the eternal life, which was ^(K)with the Father and was ^(L)revealed to us— ³ what we have ^(M)seen and ^(N)heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our ^(O)fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ.

³⁵ And he who has seen has ^(A)testified, and his testimony is true; and he knows that he is telling the truth, so that you also may believe.

Eyewitnesses

¹⁶ For we did not follow cleverly devised ^(A)tales when we made known to you the ^(B)power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were ^(C)eyewitnesses of His majesty.

²⁶ But the ^(A)Helper, the Holy Spirit ^(B)whom the Father will send in My name, ^(C)He will teach you all things, and ^(D)remind you of all that I said to you.

¹³ But when He, ^(A)the Spirit of truth, comes, He will ^(B)guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.

²⁰ But ^(A)know this first of all, that ^(B)no prophecy of Scripture ^[a]becomes a matter of ^[b]someone’s own interpretation, ²¹ for ^(C)no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men ^(D)moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.
