⁸But ^(A)Abner the son of Ner, commander of Saul’s army, took ^[a]Ishbosheth the son of Saul and brought him over to ^(B)Mahanaim;

⁸Meanwhile, Abner^(B) son of Ner, the commander of Saul’s army, had taken Ish-Bosheth^(C) son of Saul and brought him over to Mahanaim.^(D)

⁹and he made him king over ^(A)Gilead, over the ^(B)Ashurites, over ^(C)Jezreel, over Ephraim, over Benjamin, and over all Israel.
