^5-6そう言いはる彼らは、神がかつて、この世界を大洪水によって滅ぼされたという事実を見落としています。天は昔のままですが、神が最初に造られた地は、洪水によって滅びました。

⁶By these waters also the world of that time^(A) was deluged and destroyed.^(B)

⁷しかし神は、今の天と地を、不敬虔な者たちのさばきの日に火で焼き滅ぼすため、そのまま残しておくようにされたのです。

⁷By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire,^(A) being kept for the day of judgment^(B) and destruction of the ungodly.
