2 Corinthians 5:8-12
New King James Version
8 We are confident, yes, (A)well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.
The Judgment Seat of Christ
9 Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. 10 (B)For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, (C)that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. 11 Knowing, therefore, (D)the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are well known to God, and I also trust are well known in your consciences.
Be Reconciled to God
12 For (E)we do not commend ourselves again to you, but give you opportunity (F)to boast on our behalf, that you may have an answer for those who boast in appearance and not in heart.

2 Corinthians 5:8-12
New International Version
8 We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.(A) 9 So we make it our goal to please him,(B) whether we are at home in the body or away from it. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us(C) for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.
The Ministry of Reconciliation
11 Since, then, we know what it is to fear the Lord,(D) we try to persuade others. What we are is plain to God, and I hope it is also plain to your conscience.(E) 12 We are not trying to commend ourselves to you again,(F) but are giving you an opportunity to take pride in us,(G) so that you can answer those who take pride in what is seen rather than in what is in the heart.
Colossians 1:9-10
New King James Version
Preeminence of Christ
9 (A)For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask (B)that you may be filled with (C)the knowledge of His will (D)in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 (E)that you may walk worthy of the Lord, (F)fully pleasing Him, (G)being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the (H)knowledge of God;

New International Version
9 For this reason, since the day we heard about you,(A) we have not stopped praying for you.(B) We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will(C) through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives,[a](D) 10 so that you may live a life worthy(E) of the Lord and please him(F) in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,(G)

2 Timothy 2:3-7
New King James Version
3 You therefore must (A)endure[a] hardship (B)as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. 4 (C)No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier. 5 And also (D)if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. 6 The hardworking farmer must be first to partake of the crops. 7 Consider what I say, and [b]may the Lord (E)give you understanding in all things.

2 Timothy 2:3-7
New International Version
3 Join with me in suffering,(A) like a good soldier(B) of Christ Jesus. 4 No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer. 5 Similarly, anyone who competes as an athlete does not receive the victor’s crown(C) except by competing according to the rules. 6 The hardworking farmer should be the first to receive a share of the crops.(D) 7 Reflect on what I am saying, for the Lord will give you insight into all this.
