2 Corinthians 4:3-9

³But even if our gospel is veiled, ^(A)it is veiled to those who are perishing, ⁴whose minds ^(B)the god of this age ^(C)has blinded, who do not believe, lest ^(D)the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, ^(E)who is the image of God, should shine on them. ⁵^(F)For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ^(G)ourselves your bondservants for Jesus’ sake. ⁶For it is the God ^(H)who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has ^(I)shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Cast Down but Unconquered

⁷But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, ^(J)that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. ⁸We are ^(K)hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; ⁹persecuted, but not ^(L)forsaken; ^(M)struck down, but not destroyed—

³And even if our gospel^(A) is veiled,^(B) it is veiled to those who are perishing.^(C) ⁴The god^(D) of this age^(E) has blinded^(F) the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ,^(G) who is the image of God.^(H) ⁵For what we preach is not ourselves,^(I) but Jesus Christ as Lord,^(J) and ourselves as your servants^(K) for Jesus’ sake. ⁶For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,”^[a]^(L) made his light shine in our hearts^(M) to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.^(N)

⁷But we have this treasure in jars of clay^(O) to show that this all-surpassing power is from God^(P) and not from us. ⁸We are hard pressed on every side,^(Q) but not crushed; perplexed,^(R) but not in despair; ⁹persecuted,^(S) but not abandoned;^(T) struck down, but not destroyed.^(U)
