³ “Leave here, turn eastward and hide^(A) in the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan.

⁴ While Jezebel^(A) was killing off the Lord’s prophets, Obadiah had taken a hundred prophets and hidden^(B) them in two caves, fifty in each, and had supplied^(C) them with food and water.)

¹⁰ As surely as the Lord your God lives, there is not a nation or kingdom where my master has not sent someone to look^(A) for you. And whenever a nation or kingdom claimed you were not there, he made them swear they could not find you.

²⁰ (Now Uriah son of Shemaiah from Kiriath Jearim^(A) was another man who prophesied in the name of the Lord; he prophesied the same things against this city and this land as Jeremiah did. ²¹ When King Jehoiakim^(B) and all his officers and officials^(C) heard his words, the king was determined to put him to death.^(D) But Uriah heard of it and fled^(E) in fear to Egypt. ²² King Jehoiakim, however, sent Elnathan^(F) son of Akbor to Egypt, along with some other men. ²³ They brought Uriah out of Egypt and took him to King Jehoiakim, who had him struck down with a sword^(G) and his body thrown into the burial place of the common people.)^(H)

²⁴ Furthermore, Ahikam^(I) son of Shaphan supported Jeremiah, and so he was not handed over to the people to be put to death.

²⁶ Instead, the king commanded Jerahmeel, a son of the king, Seraiah son of Azriel and Shelemiah son of Abdeel to arrest^(A) Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet. But the Lord had hidden^(B) them.
