¹⁴ And we have seen and testify^(A) that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.^{(B) 15} If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God,^(C) God lives in them and they in God.^(D)

³² “Whoever acknowledges me before others,^(A) I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven.

⁸ “I tell you, whoever publicly acknowledges me before others, the Son of Man will also acknowledge before the angels of God.^(A)

⁹ If you declare^(A) with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,”^(B) and believe^(C) in your heart that God raised him from the dead,^(D) you will be saved.^(E)

²¹ It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything else that will cause your brother or sister to fall.^(A)

¹³ Therefore, if what I eat causes my brother or sister to fall into sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause them to fall.^(A)

¹¹ and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands,^(A) just as we told you, ¹² so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders^(B) and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.

² This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh^(A) is from God,^(B)

Faith in the Incarnate Son of God

5 Everyone who believes^(A) that Jesus is the Christ^(B) is born of God,^(C) and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well.^(D)
