The Promise Is Eternal Life

25 (A)This is the promise which He Himself [a]made to us: eternal life.

26 These things I have written to you concerning those who are trying to (B)deceive you. 27 And as for you, the (C)anointing which you received from Him remains in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing (D)teaches you about all things, and is (E)true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, [b]you remain in Him.

28 Now, (F)little children, remain in Him, so that when He (G)appears, we may have (H)confidence and (I)not [c]draw back from Him in shame [d]at His (J)coming. 29 If you know that (K)He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness also (L)has been born of Him.

Children of God Love One Another

See [e](M)how great a love the Father has given us, that we would be called (N)children of God; and in fact we are. For this reason the world does not know us: because (O)it did not know Him. (P)Beloved, now we are (Q)children of God, and (R)it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He (S)appears, we will be (T)like Him, because we will (U)see Him just as He is. And everyone who has this (V)hope set on Him (W)purifies himself, just as He is pure.
