31 So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.(A) 32 Do not cause anyone to stumble,(B) whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God(C) 33 even as I try to please everyone in every way.(D) For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many,(E) so that they may be saved.(F) 11 Follow my example,(G) as I follow the example of Christ.(H)

On Covering the Head in Worship

I praise you(I) for remembering me in everything(J) and for holding to the traditions just as I passed them on to you.(K) But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ,(L) and the head of the woman is man,[a](M) and the head of Christ is God.(N) Every man who prays or prophesies(O) with his head covered dishonors his head. But every woman who prays or prophesies(P) with her head uncovered dishonors her head—it is the same as having her head shaved.(Q)

Footnotes

  1. 1 Corinthians 11:3 Or of the wife is her husband

31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:

33 Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.

11 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.

Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you.

But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.

But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.
