For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life.(A) Therefore, anyone who rejects this instruction does not reject a human being but God, the very God who gives you his Holy Spirit.(B)

Now about your love for one another(C) we do not need to write to you,(D) for you yourselves have been taught by God(E) to love each other.(F) 10 And in fact, you do love all of God’s family throughout Macedonia.(G) Yet we urge you, brothers and sisters, to do so more and more,(H) 11 and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands,(I) just as we told you, 12 so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders(J) and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.

He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.

But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.

10 And indeed ye do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more;

11 And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;

12 That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.
