25 Then Saul said, “Thus you shall say to David: ‘The king does not desire any (A)dowry but one hundred foreskins of the Philistines, to take (B)vengeance on the king’s enemies.’ ” But Saul (C)thought to make David fall by the hand of the Philistines. 26 So when his servants told David these words, it pleased David well to become the king’s son-in-law. Now (D)the days had not expired; 27 therefore David arose and went, he and (E)his men, and killed two hundred men of the Philistines. And (F)David brought their foreskins, and they gave them in full count to the king, that he might become the king’s son-in-law. Then Saul gave him Michal his daughter as a wife.

25 Saul replied, “Say to David, ‘The king wants no other price(A) for the bride than a hundred Philistine foreskins, to take revenge(B) on his enemies.’” Saul’s plan(C) was to have David fall by the hands of the Philistines.

26 When the attendants told David these things, he was pleased to become the king’s son-in-law. So before the allotted time elapsed, 27 David took his men with him and went out and killed two hundred Philistines and brought back their foreskins. They counted out the full number to the king so that David might become the king’s son-in-law. Then Saul gave him his daughter Michal(D) in marriage.
