1 Peter 1:6-12

^6 (A)In this you greatly rejoice, even though now ^(B)for a little while, ^(C)if necessary, you have been distressed by ^(D)various ^[a]trials, ⁷ so that the ^[b](E)proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which perishes ^(F)though tested by fire, ^(G)may be found to result in praise, glory, and honor at ^(H)the revelation of Jesus Christ; ⁸ and ^(I)though you have not seen Him, you ^(J)love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and ^[c]full of glory, ⁹ obtaining as ^(K)the outcome of your faith, the salvation of ^[d]your souls.

^10 (L)As to this salvation, the prophets who ^(M)prophesied of the ^(N)grace that would come to you made careful searches and inquiries, ^11 [e]seeking to know what person or time ^(O)the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating as He ^(P)predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories ^[f]to follow. ¹² It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves, but you, in these things which now have been announced to you through those who ^(Q)preached the gospel to you by ^(R)the Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things into which ^(S)angels long to ^[g]look.
