A Heavenly Inheritance

^3 (A)Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who ^(B)according to His abundant mercy ^(C)has begotten us again to a living hope ^(D)through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

³ as His ^(A)divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him ^(B)who called us by glory and virtue, ^4 (C)by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be ^(D)partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the ^[a]corruption that is in the world through lust.

Fruitful Growth in the Faith

⁵ But also for this very reason, ^(E)giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue ^(F)knowledge, ⁶ to knowledge self-control, to self-control ^[b]perseverance, to perseverance godliness, ⁷ to godliness brotherly kindness, and ^(G)to brotherly kindness love. ⁸ For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither ^[c]barren ^(H)nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. ⁹ For he who lacks these things is ^(I)shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.

¹⁰ Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent ^(J)to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; ¹¹ for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

²² But ^(A)the fruit of the Spirit is ^(B)love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, ^(C)goodness, ^(D)faithfulness, ^23 [a]gentleness, self-control. ^(E)Against such there is no law.

¹³ Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that same hour.

²⁹ Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.”

²⁸ Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, ^(A)great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.

^5 (A)Now He could do no mighty work there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them. ⁶ And ^(B)He marveled because of their unbelief. ^(C)Then He went about the villages in a circuit, teaching.
