1 Peter 2:5-9

⁵^(A)you yourselves like living stones are being built up as ^(B)a spiritual house, to be ^(C)a holy priesthood, ^(D)to offer spiritual sacrifices ^(E)acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. ⁶For it stands in Scripture:

^(F)“Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone,
a cornerstone chosen and precious,
^(G)and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.”

⁷So the honor is for you who ^(H)believe, but for those who ^(I)do not believe,

^(J)“The stone that the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone,”^[a]

⁸and

^(K)“A stone of stumbling,
and a rock of offense.”

They stumble because they disobey the word, ^(L)as they were destined to do.

⁹But you are ^(M)a chosen race, ^(N)a royal ^(O)priesthood, ^(P)a holy nation, ^(Q)a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you ^(R)out of darkness into ^(S)his marvelous light.
