2 In those days Mattathias son of John son of Simeon, a priest of the clan of Joarib, moved from Jerusalem and settled in Modein.^(A)

³⁸ Then the king made Cendebeus commander-in-chief of the coastal country and gave him troops of infantry and cavalry.^(A)
