²⁸ So the king ^[a]consulted, and he ^(A)made two golden ^(B)calves; and he said to ^[b]the people, “It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem; ^(C)behold your gods, Israel, that brought you up from the land of Egypt.”

¹⁶ He will give up Israel ^(A)because of the sins of Jeroboam, which he ^[a]committed and with which he misled Israel into sin.”

²⁶ He did evil in the sight of the Lord, and ^(A)walked in the way of his father and ^(B)in his sin into which he misled Israel.
