“This shall be the priests’ due from the people, from those offering a sacrifice, whether an ox or a sheep: they shall give to the priest the shoulder, the two jowls, and the stomach.(A) The first fruits of your grain, your wine, and your oil, as well as the first of the fleece of your sheep, you shall give him.(B) For the Lord your God has chosen Levi[a] out of all your tribes to stand and minister in the name of the Lord, him and his sons for all time.(C)

“If a Levite leaves any of your towns, from wherever he has been residing in Israel, and comes to the place that the Lord will choose (and he may come whenever he wishes), then he may minister in the name of the Lord his God, like all his fellow-Levites who stand to minister there before the Lord. They shall have equal portions to eat, even though they have income from the sale of family possessions.[b](D)

This is the share due the priests(A) from the people who sacrifice a bull(B) or a sheep: the shoulder, the internal organs and the meat from the head.(C) You are to give them the firstfruits of your grain, new wine and olive oil, and the first wool from the shearing of your sheep,(D) for the Lord your God has chosen them(E) and their descendants out of all your tribes to stand and minister(F) in the Lord’s name always.(G)

If a Levite moves from one of your towns anywhere in Israel where he is living, and comes in all earnestness to the place the Lord will choose,(H) he may minister in the name(I) of the Lord his God like all his fellow Levites who serve there in the presence of the Lord. He is to share equally in their benefits, even though he has received money from the sale of family possessions.(J)
