²⁹ I mean, brothers and sisters, the appointed time has grown short; from now on, let even those who have wives be as though they had none,^(A)

³⁰ and those who mourn as though they were not mourning, and those who rejoice as though they were not rejoicing, and those who buy as though they had no possessions,

³⁴ Sober up, as you rightly ought to, and sin no more, for some people have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.^(A)

¹⁴ for everything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says,

⁵ for you are all children of light and children of the day; we are not of the night or of darkness.

⁶ So, then, let us not fall asleep as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober,^(A)
