10 One person is given the gift of doing powerful works. Another person is given the gift of speaking God’s Word. Another person is given the gift of telling the difference between the Holy Spirit and false spirits. Another person is given the gift of speaking in special sounds. Another person is given the gift of telling what these special sounds mean. 11 But it is the same Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God, Who does all these things. He gives to each person as He wants to give.
Our Body Is Like the Body of Christ
12 Our own body has many parts. When all these many parts are put together, they are only one body. The body of Christ is like this.

10 to another miraculous powers,(A) to another prophecy,(B) to another distinguishing between spirits,(C) to another speaking in different kinds of tongues,[a](D) and to still another the interpretation of tongues.[b] 11 All these are the work of one and the same Spirit,(E) and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.
Unity and Diversity in the Body
12 Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body,(F) so it is with Christ.(G)
