27 Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy way, shall be (A)guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord. 28 But a person must (B)examine himself, and in so doing he is to eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For the one who eats and drinks, eats and drinks judgment to himself if he does not properly recognize the [a]body. 30 For this reason many among you are weak and sick, and a number [b](C)are asleep. 31 But if we judged ourselves rightly, we would not be judged. 32 But when we are judged, we are (D)disciplined by the Lord so that we will not be condemned along with (E)the world.

33 So then, my brothers and sisters, when you come together to eat, wait for one another. 34 If anyone is (F)hungry, have him eat (G)at home, so that you do not come together for judgment. As to the remaining matters, I will (H)give instructions (I)when I come.

The Use of Spiritual Gifts

12 Now concerning (J)spiritual gifts, brothers and sisters, (K)I do not want you to be unaware. (L)You know that when you were [c]pagans, you were (M)led [d]astray to the (N)mute idols, however you were led. Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking [e](O)by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus is [f](P)accursed”; and no one can say, “Jesus is (Q)Lord,” except [g](R)by the Holy Spirit.

Now there are (S)varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord. There are varieties of effects, but the same (T)God who works all things in all persons. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit (U)for the common good. For to one is given the word of (V)wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of (W)knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another (X)faith [h]by the same Spirit, and to another (Y)gifts of [i]healing [j]by the one Spirit, 10 and to another the [k]effecting of [l](Z)miracles, and to another (AA)prophecy, and to another the [m](AB)distinguishing of spirits, to another various (AC)kinds of tongues, and to another the (AD)interpretation of tongues. 11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, (AE)distributing to each one individually just as He [n]wills.

12 For just (AF)as the body is one and yet has many parts, and all the parts of the body, though they are many, are one body, (AG)so also is Christ. 13 For [o](AH)by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether (AI)Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to (AJ)drink of one Spirit.

14 For (AK)the body is not one part, but many.
