^20 (A)Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? ^(B)Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? ²¹ For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach^[a] to save those who believe. ²² For ^(C)Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, ²³ but we preach Christ ^(D)crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, ²⁴ but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ ^(E)the power of God and ^(F)the wisdom of God.

² For I decided to know nothing among you except ^(A)Jesus Christ and him crucified.

²⁸ Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that ^(A)we may present everyone ^(B)mature in Christ.

^39 (A)You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and ^(B)it is they that bear witness about me,

²⁵ And he said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! ^26 (A)Was it not necessary that ^(B)the Christ should suffer these things and enter into ^(C)his glory?” ²⁷ And ^(D)beginning with ^(E)Moses and ^(F)all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.

⁴⁴ Then he said to them, ^(A)“These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, ^(B)that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”

^56 (A)Your father Abraham ^(B)rejoiced ^(C)that he would see my day. ^(D)He saw it and was glad.”

2 For I want you to know ^(A)how great a ^(B)struggle I have for you and for those at Laodicea and for all who have not seen me face to face, ² that ^(C)their hearts may be encouraged, being ^(D)knit together in love, to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of ^(E)God's mystery, which is Christ, ^3 (F)in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
