Сих двенадцать послал Иисус, и заповедал им, говоря: на путь к язычникам не ходите, и в город Самарянский не входите;

а идите наипаче к погибшим овцам дома Израилева;

ходя же, проповедуйте, что приблизилось Царство Небесное;

больных исцеляйте, прокаженных очищайте, мертвых воскрешайте, бесов изгоняйте; даром получили, даром давайте.

Не берите с собою ни золота, ни серебра, ни меди в поясы свои,

10 ни сумы на дорогу, ни двух одежд, ни обуви, ни посоха, ибо трудящийся достоин пропитания.

11 В какой бы город или селение ни вошли вы, наведывайтесь, кто в нем достоин, и там оставайтесь, пока не выйдете;

12 а входя в дом, приветствуйте его, говоря: мир дому сему;

13 и если дом будет достоин, то мир ваш придет на него; если же не будет достоин, то мир ваш к вам возвратится.

14 А если кто не примет вас и не послушает слов ваших, то, выходя из дома или из города того, отрясите прах от ног ваших;

15 истинно говорю вам: отраднее будет земле Содомской и Гоморрской в день суда, нежели городу тому.

16 Вот, Я посылаю вас, как овец среди волков: итак будьте мудры, как змии, и просты, как голуби.

17 Остерегайтесь же людей: ибо они будут отдавать вас в судилища и в синагогах своих будут бить вас,

18 и поведут вас к правителям и царям за Меня, для свидетельства перед ними и язычниками.

19 Когда же будут предавать вас, не заботьтесь, как или что сказать; ибо в тот час дано будет вам, что сказать,

20 ибо не вы будете говорить, но Дух Отца вашего будет говорить в вас.

21 Предаст же брат брата на смерть, и отец--сына; и восстанут дети на родителей, и умертвят их;

22 и будете ненавидимы всеми за имя Мое; претерпевший же до конца спасется.

23 Когда же будут гнать вас в одном городе, бегите в другой. Ибо истинно говорю вам: не успеете обойти городов Израилевых, как приидет Сын Человеческий.

24 Ученик не выше учителя, и слуга не выше господина своего:

25 довольно для ученика, чтобы он был, как учитель его, и для слуги, чтобы он был, как господин его. Если хозяина дома назвали веельзевулом, не тем ли более домашних его?

26 Итак не бойтесь их, ибо нет ничего сокровенного, что не открылось бы, и тайного, что не было бы узнано.

27 Что говорю вам в темноте, говорите при свете; и что на ухо слышите, проповедуйте на кровлях.

28 И не бойтесь убивающих тело, души же не могущих убить; а бойтесь более Того, Кто может и душу и тело погубить в геенне.

29 Не две ли малые птицы продаются за ассарий? И ни одна из них не упадет на землю без [воли] Отца вашего;

30 у вас же и волосы на голове все сочтены;

31 не бойтесь же: вы лучше многих малых птиц.

32 Итак всякого, кто исповедает Меня пред людьми, того исповедаю и Я пред Отцем Моим Небесным;

33 а кто отречется от Меня пред людьми, отрекусь от того и Я пред Отцем Моим Небесным.

34 Не думайте, что Я пришел принести мир на землю; не мир пришел Я принести, но меч,

35 ибо Я пришел разделить человека с отцом его, и дочь с матерью ее, и невестку со свекровью ее.

36 И враги человеку--домашние его.

37 Кто любит отца или мать более, нежели Меня, не достоин Меня; и кто любит сына или дочь более, нежели Меня, не достоин Меня;

38 и кто не берет креста своего и следует за Мною, тот не достоин Меня.

39 Сберегший душу свою потеряет ее; а потерявший душу свою ради Меня сбережет ее.

40 Кто принимает вас, принимает Меня, а кто принимает Меня, принимает Пославшего Меня;

41 кто принимает пророка, во имя пророка, получит награду пророка; и кто принимает праведника, во имя праведника, получит награду праведника.

42 И кто напоит одного из малых сих только чашею холодной воды, во имя ученика, истинно говорю вам, не потеряет награды своей.

The Twelve Apostles(A)

10 And (B)when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease. Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: first, Simon, (C)who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and [a]Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus; (D)Simon the [b]Cananite, and Judas (E)Iscariot, who also betrayed Him.

Sending Out the Twelve(F)

These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: (G)“Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of (H)the Samaritans. (I)But go rather to the (J)lost sheep of the house of Israel. (K)And as you go, preach, saying, (L)‘The kingdom of heaven [c]is at hand.’ Heal the sick, [d]cleanse the lepers, [e]raise the dead, cast out demons. (M)Freely you have received, freely give. (N)Provide neither gold nor silver nor (O)copper in your money belts, 10 nor bag for your journey, nor two tunics, nor sandals, nor staffs; (P)for a worker is worthy of his food.

11 (Q)“Now whatever city or town you enter, inquire who in it is worthy, and stay there till you go out. 12 And when you go into a household, greet it. 13 (R)If the household is worthy, let your peace come upon it. (S)But if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you. 14 (T)And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, (U)shake off the dust from your feet. 15 Assuredly, I say to you, (V)it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!

Persecutions Are Coming(W)

16 (X)“Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. (Y)Therefore be wise as serpents and (Z)harmless[f] as doves. 17 But beware of men, for (AA)they will deliver you up to councils and (AB)scourge you in their synagogues. 18 (AC)You will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles. 19 (AD)But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For (AE)it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak; 20 (AF)for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.

21 (AG)“Now brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death. 22 And (AH)you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. (AI)But he who endures to the end will be saved. 23 (AJ)When they persecute you in this city, flee to another. For assuredly, I say to you, you will not have (AK)gone through the cities of Israel (AL)before the Son of Man comes.

24 (AM)“A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. 25 It is enough for a disciple that he be like his teacher, and a servant like his master. If (AN)they have called the master of the house [g]Beelzebub, how much more will they call those of his household! 26 Therefore do not fear them. (AO)For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known.

Jesus Teaches the Fear of God(AP)

27 “Whatever I tell you in the dark, (AQ)speak in the light; and what you hear in the ear, preach on the housetops. 28 (AR)And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather (AS)fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in [h]hell. 29 Are not two (AT)sparrows sold for a [i]copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. 30 (AU)But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

Confess Christ Before Men(AV)

32 (AW)“Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, (AX)him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. 33 (AY)But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.

Christ Brings Division(AZ)

34 (BA)“Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. 35 For I have come to (BB)‘set[j] a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’; 36 and (BC)‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’ 37 (BD)He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. 38 (BE)And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. 39 (BF)He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.

A Cup of Cold Water(BG)

40 (BH)“He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me. 41 (BI)He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward. And he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward. 42 (BJ)And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward.”

Jesus Sends Out the Twelve(A)(B)(C)(D)(E)

10 Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits(F) and to heal every disease and sickness.(G)

These are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon (who is called Peter) and his brother Andrew; James son of Zebedee, and his brother John; Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; Simon the Zealot and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.(H)

These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: “Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans.(I) Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel.(J) As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven(K) has come near.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy,[a] drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.

“Do not get any gold or silver or copper to take with you in your belts(L) 10 no bag for the journey or extra shirt or sandals or a staff, for the worker is worth his keep.(M) 11 Whatever town or village you enter, search there for some worthy person and stay at their house until you leave. 12 As you enter the home, give it your greeting.(N) 13 If the home is deserving, let your peace rest on it; if it is not, let your peace return to you. 14 If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet.(O) 15 Truly I tell you, it will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah(P) on the day of judgment(Q) than for that town.(R)

16 “I am sending you out like sheep among wolves.(S) Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.(T) 17 Be on your guard; you will be handed over to the local councils(U) and be flogged in the synagogues.(V) 18 On my account you will be brought before governors and kings(W) as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles. 19 But when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it.(X) At that time you will be given what to say, 20 for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father(Y) speaking through you.

21 “Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rebel against their parents(Z) and have them put to death.(AA) 22 You will be hated by everyone because of me,(AB) but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.(AC) 23 When you are persecuted in one place, flee to another. Truly I tell you, you will not finish going through the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.(AD)

24 “The student is not above the teacher, nor a servant above his master.(AE) 25 It is enough for students to be like their teachers, and servants like their masters. If the head of the house has been called Beelzebul,(AF) how much more the members of his household!

26 “So do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known.(AG) 27 What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs. 28 Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One(AH) who can destroy both soul and body in hell. 29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care.[b] 30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.(AI) 31 So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.(AJ)

32 “Whoever acknowledges me before others,(AK) I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. 33 But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven.(AL)

34 “Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to turn

“‘a man against his father,
    a daughter against her mother,
a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law(AM)
36     a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.’[c](AN)

37 “Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.(AO) 38 Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me.(AP) 39 Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.(AQ)

40 “Anyone who welcomes you welcomes me,(AR) and anyone who welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me.(AS) 41 Whoever welcomes a prophet as a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward, and whoever welcomes a righteous person as a righteous person will receive a righteous person’s reward. 42 And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward.”(AT)
