¹² In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths^(A) of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food!^{(B) 13} Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant,^(C) is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. ¹⁴ But solid food is for the mature,^(D) who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.^(E)

¹⁷ From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven^(A) has come near.”

²⁹ Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,^(A) for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.^{(B) 30} For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”^(C)

¹⁵ “The time has come,”^(A) he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe^(B) the good news!”^(C)

¹⁵ Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”^(A)

³⁹ You study^[a] the Scriptures^(A) diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life.^(B) These are the very Scriptures that testify about me,^{(C) 40} yet you refuse to come to me^(D) to have life.

¹⁵ I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.^(A)

¹⁹ Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out,^(A) that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, ²⁰ and that he may send the Messiah,^(B) who has been appointed for you—even Jesus.
