Parábola del sembrador
(Mt. 13.1-15,18-23; Mr. 4.1-20)
4 Juntándose una gran multitud, y los que de cada ciudad venían a él, les dijo por parábola: 5 El sembrador salió a sembrar su semilla; y mientras sembraba, una parte cayó junto al camino, y fue hollada, y las aves del cielo la comieron. 6 Otra parte cayó sobre la piedra; y nacida, se secó, porque no tenía humedad. 7 Otra parte cayó entre espinos, y los espinos que nacieron juntamente con ella, la ahogaron. 8 Y otra parte cayó en buena tierra, y nació y llevó fruto a ciento por uno. Hablando estas cosas, decía a gran voz: El que tiene oídos para oír, oiga.
9 Y sus discípulos le preguntaron, diciendo: ¿Qué significa esta parábola? 10 Y él dijo: A vosotros os es dado conocer los misterios del reino de Dios; pero a los otros por parábolas, para que viendo no vean, y oyendo no entiendan.(A) 11 Esta es, pues, la parábola: La semilla es la palabra de Dios. 12 Y los de junto al camino son los que oyen, y luego viene el diablo y quita de su corazón la palabra, para que no crean y se salven. 13 Los de sobre la piedra son los que habiendo oído, reciben la palabra con gozo; pero estos no tienen raíces; creen por algún tiempo, y en el tiempo de la prueba se apartan. 14 La que cayó entre espinos, estos son los que oyen, pero yéndose, son ahogados por los afanes y las riquezas y los placeres de la vida, y no llevan fruto. 15 Mas la que cayó en buena tierra, estos son los que con corazón bueno y recto retienen la palabra oída, y dan fruto con perseverancia.
Nada oculto que no haya de ser manifestado

16 Nadie que enciende una luz la cubre con una vasija, ni la pone debajo de la cama, sino que la pone en un candelero(B) para que los que entran vean la luz. 17 Porque nada hay oculto, que no haya de ser manifestado; ni escondido, que no haya de ser conocido, y de salir a luz.(C) 18 Mirad, pues, cómo oís; porque a todo el que tiene, se le dará; y a todo el que no tiene, aun lo que piensa tener se le quitará.(D)

Parábola del sembrador (Mt 13,1-17; Mc 4,1-9)
4 En cierta ocasión, habiéndose reunido mucha gente que acudía a Jesús procedente de todos los pueblos, les contó esta parábola:
5 — Un sembrador salió a sembrar su semilla. Al lanzar la semilla, una parte cayó al borde del camino, donde fue pisoteada y los pájaros se la comieron. 6 Otra parte cayó sobre piedras y, apenas brotó, se secó porque no tenía humedad. 7 Otra parte de la semilla cayó en medio de los cardos, y los cardos, al crecer juntamente con ella, la sofocaron. 8 Otra parte, en fin, cayó en tierra fértil, y brotó y dio fruto al ciento por uno.
Dicho esto, Jesús añadió:
— Quien pueda entender esto, que lo entienda.
9 Los discípulos le preguntaron por el significado de esta parábola. 10 Jesús les contestó:
— A ustedes, Dios les permite conocer los secretos de su reino, pero a los demás les hablo por medio de parábolas, para que, aunque miren, no vean, y aunque escuchen, no entiendan.
Explicación de la parábola (Mt 13,18-23; Mc 4,13-20)
11 Este es el significado de la parábola: La semilla es el mensaje de Dios. 12 La parte que cayó al borde del camino representa a aquellos que oyen el mensaje, pero llega el diablo y se lo arrebata del corazón para que no crean y se salven. 13 La semilla que cayó sobre piedras representa a los que escuchan el mensaje y lo reciben con alegría; pero son tan superficiales que, aunque de momento creen, en cuanto llegan las dificultades abandonan. 14 La semilla que cayó entre los cardos representa a los que escuchan el mensaje, pero preocupados sólo por los problemas, las riquezas y los placeres de esta vida, se desentienden y no llegan a dar fruto. 15 Por último, la semilla que cayó en tierra fértil representa a los que oyen el mensaje con una disposición acogedora y recta, lo guardan con corazón noble y bueno, y dan fruto por su constancia.
El ejemplo de la lámpara (Mt 5,15; 10,26; 13,12; Mc 4,21-25)
16 Nadie enciende una lámpara y la tapa con una vasija o la mete debajo de la cama, sino que la pone en el candelero para que alumbre a todos los que entren en la casa. 17 Pues nada hay escondido que no haya de ser descubierto, ni hay nada hecho en secreto que no haya de conocerse y salir a la luz.
18 Presten mucha atención, porque al que tenga algo, aun se le dará más; pero al que no tenga nada, hasta lo que crea tener se le quitará.

And as he sowed, some fell by the wayside; and it was trampled down, and the birds of the air devoured it. 6 Some fell on rock; and as soon as it sprang up, it withered away because it lacked moisture. 7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up with it and choked it. 8 But others fell on good ground, sprang up, and yielded [a]a crop a hundredfold.” When He had said these things He cried, (C)“He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”

11 (H)“Now the parable is this: The seed is the (I)word of God. 12 Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. 13 But the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of [c]temptation fall away. 14 Now the ones that fell among thorns are those who, when they have heard, go out and are choked with cares, (J)riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity. 15 But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with (K)patience.[d]

16 (M)“No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a vessel or puts it under a bed, but sets it on a lampstand, that those who enter may see the (N)light. 17 (O)For nothing is secret that will not be (P)revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light. 18 Therefore take heed how you hear. (Q)For whoever has, to him more will be given; and whoever does not have, even what he [e]seems to (R)have will be taken from him.”

Parable of the Sower
4 When a large crowd was gathering together, and people from city after city were coming to Him, He spoke [to them] using a parable:(A) 5 “The sower went out to sow his seed; and as he sowed, some fell beside the road and it was trampled underfoot, and the birds of the sky ate it up. 6 And some seed fell on [shallow soil covering] the rocks, and as soon as it sprouted, it withered away, because it had no moisture. 7 Other seed fell among the thorns, and the thorns grew up with it and choked it out. 8 And some fell into good soil, and grew up and produced a crop a hundred times as great.” As He said these things, He called out, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear and heed My words.”
9 Now His disciples began asking Him what this parable meant. 10 And He said, “To you [who have been chosen] it has been granted to know and recognize the [a]mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest it is in parables, so that though seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.(B)
11 “Now [the meaning of] the parable is this: The seed is the word of God [concerning eternal salvation]. 12 Those beside the road are the people who have heard; then the devil comes and takes the message [of God] away from their hearts, so that they will not believe [in Me as the Messiah] and be saved. 13 Those on the rocky soil are the people who, when they hear, receive and welcome the word with joy; but these have no firmly grounded root. They believe for a while, and in time of trial and temptation they fall away [from Me and abandon their faith]. 14 The seed which fell among the thorns, these are the ones who have heard, but as they go on their way they are suffocated with the anxieties and riches and pleasures of this life, and they bring no fruit to maturity. 15 But as for that seed in the good soil, these are the ones who have heard the word with a good and noble heart, and hold on to it tightly, and bear fruit with patience.
Parable of the Lamp
16 “Now no one lights a lamp and then covers it with a container [to hide it], or puts it under a bed; instead, he puts it on a lampstand, so that those who come in may see the light.(C) 17 For there is nothing hidden that will not become evident, nor anything secret that will not be known and come out into the open. 18 So be careful how you listen; for whoever has [a teachable heart], to him more [understanding] will be given; and whoever does not have [a longing for truth], even what he thinks he has will be taken away from him.”(D)
