Zechariah 1:18-21
New International Version
Four Horns and Four Craftsmen
18 Then I looked up, and there before me were four horns. 19 I asked the angel who was speaking to me, “What are these?”
He answered me, “These are the horns(A) that scattered Judah, Israel and Jerusalem.”
20 Then the Lord showed me four craftsmen. 21 I asked, “What are these coming to do?”
He answered, “These are the horns that scattered Judah so that no one could raise their head, but the craftsmen have come to terrify them and throw down these horns of the nations who lifted up their horns(B) against the land of Judah to scatter its people.”[a](C)

3 “I have trodden the winepress(A) alone;
from the nations no one was with me.
I trampled(B) them in my anger
and trod them down in my wrath;(C)

4 This is what the Lord says to me:
“As a lion(A) growls,
a great lion over its prey—
and though a whole band of shepherds(B)
is called together against it,
it is not frightened by their shouts
or disturbed by their clamor(C)—
so the Lord Almighty will come down(D)
to do battle on Mount Zion and on its heights.
5 Like birds hovering(E) overhead,
the Lord Almighty will shield(F) Jerusalem;
he will shield it and deliver(G) it,
he will ‘pass over’(H) it and will rescue it.”
