Mark 11:1-11
New International Version
Jesus Comes to Jerusalem as King(A)(B)
11 As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage and Bethany(C) at the Mount of Olives,(D) Jesus sent two of his disciples, 2 saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and just as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden.(E) Untie it and bring it here. 3 If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord needs it and will send it back here shortly.’”
4 They went and found a colt outside in the street, tied at a doorway.(F) As they untied it, 5 some people standing there asked, “What are you doing, untying that colt?” 6 They answered as Jesus had told them to, and the people let them go. 7 When they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks over it, he sat on it. 8 Many people spread their cloaks on the road, while others spread branches they had cut in the fields. 9 Those who went ahead and those who followed shouted,
“Hosanna![a]”
10 “Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David!”
“Hosanna in the highest heaven!”(H)
11 Jesus entered Jerusalem and went into the temple courts. He looked around at everything, but since it was already late, he went out to Bethany with the Twelve.(I)

9 Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion!(A)
Shout,(B) Daughter Jerusalem!
See, your king comes to you,(C)
righteous and victorious,(D)
lowly and riding on a donkey,(E)
on a colt, the foal of a donkey.(F)
10 I will take away the chariots from Ephraim
and the warhorses from Jerusalem,
and the battle bow will be broken.(G)
He will proclaim peace(H) to the nations.
His rule will extend from sea to sea
and from the River[a] to the ends of the earth.(I)
11 As for you, because of the blood of my covenant(J) with you,
I will free your prisoners(K) from the waterless pit.(L)
12 Return to your fortress,(M) you prisoners of hope;
even now I announce that I will restore twice(N) as much to you.
13 I will bend Judah as I bend my bow(O)
and fill it with Ephraim.(P)
I will rouse your sons, Zion,
against your sons, Greece,(Q)
and make you like a warrior’s sword.(R)
The Lord Will Appear
14 Then the Lord will appear over them;(S)
his arrow will flash like lightning.(T)
The Sovereign Lord will sound the trumpet;(U)
he will march in the storms(V) of the south,
15 and the Lord Almighty will shield(W) them.
They will destroy
and overcome with slingstones.(X)
They will drink and roar as with wine;(Y)
they will be full like a bowl(Z)
used for sprinkling[b] the corners(AA) of the altar.
16 The Lord their God will save his people on that day(AB)
as a shepherd saves his flock.
They will sparkle in his land
like jewels in a crown.(AC)
17 How attractive and beautiful they will be!
Grain will make the young men thrive,
and new wine the young women.
