Isaiah 13:20-22
New King James Version
20 (A)It will never be inhabited,
Nor will it be settled from generation to generation;
Nor will the Arabian pitch tents there,
Nor will the shepherds make their sheepfolds there.
21 (B)But wild beasts of the desert will lie there,
And their houses will be full of [a]owls;
Ostriches will dwell there,
And wild goats will caper there.
22 The hyenas will howl in their citadels,
And jackals in their pleasant palaces.
(C)Her time is near to come,
And her days will not be prolonged.”

Isaiah 34:10-15
New King James Version
10 It shall not be quenched night or day;
(A)Its smoke shall ascend forever.
(B)From generation to generation it shall lie waste;
No one shall pass through it forever and ever.
11 (C)But the [a]pelican and the [b]porcupine shall possess it,
Also the owl and the raven shall dwell in it.
And (D)He shall stretch out over it
The line of confusion and the stones of emptiness.
12 They shall call its nobles to the kingdom,
But none shall be there, and all its princes shall be nothing.
13 And (E)thorns shall come up in its palaces,
Nettles and brambles in its fortresses;
(F)It shall be a habitation of jackals,
A courtyard for ostriches.
14 The wild beasts of the desert shall also meet with the [c]jackals,
And the wild goat shall bleat to its companion;
Also [d]the night creature shall rest there,
And find for herself a place of rest.
15 There the arrow snake shall make her nest and lay eggs
And hatch, and gather them under her shadow;
There also shall the hawks be gathered,
Every one with her mate.

Malachi 1:4
New King James Version
4 Even though Edom has said,
“We have been impoverished,
But we will return and build the desolate places,”
Thus says the Lord of hosts:
“They may build, but I will (A)throw down;
They shall be called the Territory of Wickedness,
And the people against whom the Lord will have indignation forever.
