These events are unusual rather than normal and point to the successive stages of redemptive history and the new revelation that accompanies them.

from Jerusalem and all the way around to Illyricum. Paul’s journeys, according to Acts, had stretched from the eastern Mediterranean as far west as Macedonia. There is no record of his personally entering Illyricum (northwest of Macedonia). While he may have done so, it seems more likely that he means he went as far as Macedonia. He established centers of mission, rather than preached personally in every village. From such centers, even Illyricum may have been reached with the gospel.
