50:2 Zion. The location of the temple, the place God has chosen to make His presence known. See Ps. 2:6.

shines forth. The language indicates a “theophany,” a visual self-revelation of God. God’s presence is manifest at His temple in Jerusalem. See Deut. 33:2.
