19:7 the journey is too great for you. Elijah is to travel all the way to Mount Horeb (that is, Mount Sinai), the original site of God’s revelation to Moses. Horeb was in the arid Sinai Peninsula between Israel and Egypt, but the exact location is unknown (Ex. 3:1; 17:6; 33:6; Deut. 1:2, 6, 19; 4:10, 15).
