    And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said: “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.
  2. And he answered them, “Go and tell John what you have seen and heard: the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, the poor have good news preached to them.
  3. But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind,
  4. So the servant came and reported these things to his master. Then the master of the house became angry and said to his servant, ‘Go out quickly to the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in the poor and crippled and blind and lame.’

  9. and he saw a poor widow put in two small copper coins.

  25. But you have dishonored the poor man. Are not the rich the ones who oppress you, and the ones who drag you into court?
