  1. As for me, this mystery has been revealed to me, not because I have greater wisdom than anyone else alive, but so that Your Majesty may know the interpretation and that you may understand what went through your mind.

  6. Daniel’s Dream of Four Beasts

    In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon, Daniel had a dream, and visions passed through his mind as he was lying in bed. He wrote down the substance of his dream.
  7. “The first was like a lion, and it had the wings of an eagle. I watched until its wings were torn off and it was lifted from the ground so that it stood on two feet like a human being, and the mind of a human was given to it.
  8. The Interpretation of the Dream

    “I, Daniel, was troubled in spirit, and the visions that passed through my mind disturbed me.
  9. Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them.
  10. Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.
  11. Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.”
  12. “‘I will not,’ he answered, but later he changed his mind and went.
  13. Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’
  14. When his family heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, “He is out of his mind.”
  15. When they came to Jesus, they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons, sitting there, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.

  18. With this in mind, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, I too decided to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus,
  19. for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed,
  20. and the people went out to see what had happened. When they came to Jesus, they found the man from whom the demons had gone out, sitting at Jesus’ feet, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.
  21. He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
  22. But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves.
  23. He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds?
  24. Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures.
  25. He asked this only to test him, for he already had in mind what he was going to do.
