  75. A drought against her waters, that they may be dried up! For it is a land of images, and they are mad over idols.

  77. Judgment Against Idolatry

    Then he cried in my ears with a loud voice, saying, “Bring near the executioners of the city, each with his destroying weapon in his hand.”
  85. Idolatrous Elders Condemned

    Then certain of the elders of Israel came to me and sat before me.
  86. “Son of man, these men have taken their idols into their hearts, and set the stumbling block of their iniquity before their faces. Should I indeed let myself be consulted by them?

  102. You shall say, Thus says the Lord God: A city that sheds blood in her midst, so that her time may come, and that makes idols to defile herself!
  103. You have become guilty by the blood that you have shed, and defiled by the idols that you have made, and you have brought your days near, the appointed time of your years has come. Therefore I have made you a reproach to the nations, and a mockery to all the countries.
  104. She bestowed her whoring upon them, the choicest men of Assyria all of them, and she defiled herself with all the idols of everyone after whom she lusted.

  110. Therefore say to them, Thus says the Lord God: You eat flesh with the blood and lift up your eyes to your idols and shed blood; shall you then possess the land?
  111. So I poured out my wrath upon them for the blood that they had shed in the land, for the idols with which they had defiled it.
  112. I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you.

    Now concerning food offered to idols: we know that “all of us possess knowledge.” This “knowledge” puffs up, but love builds up.
  138. Therefore, as to the eating of food offered to idols, we know that “an idol has no real existence,” and that “there is no God but one.”
  139. However, not all possess this knowledge. But some, through former association with idols, eat food as really offered to an idol, and their conscience, being weak, is defiled.
  140. For if anyone sees you who have knowledge eating in an idol's temple, will he not be encouraged, if his conscience is weak, to eat food offered to idols?
  141. Warning Against Idolatry

    For I do not want you to be unaware, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea,
  142. Do not be idolaters as some of them were; as it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play.”
  143. Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.
  144. What do I imply then? That food offered to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything?
  145. You know that when you were pagans you were led astray to mute idols, however you were led.
  146. What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, “I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
  147. idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions,
  148. For you may be sure of this, that everyone who is sexually immoral or impure, or who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.
  149. Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.
  150. For they themselves report concerning us the kind of reception we had among you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God,
  151. For the time that is past suffices for doing what the Gentiles want to do, living in sensuality, passions, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and lawless idolatry.
  152. Little children, keep yourselves from idols.
  153. But I have a few things against you: you have some there who hold the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the sons of Israel, so that they might eat food sacrificed to idols and practice sexual immorality.

  156. But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”
  157. Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.
