  1. By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through him that has completely healed him, as you can all see.

  8. Abraham Justified by Faith

  9. And he received circumcision as a sign, a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. So then, he is the father of all who believe but have not been circumcised, in order that righteousness might be credited to them.
  10. It was not through the law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith.
  11. Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham’s offspring—not only to those who are of the law but also to those who have the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all.
  12. through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.
  13. Israel’s Unbelief

    What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained it, a righteousness that is by faith;
  14. Why not? Because they pursued it not by faith but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone.
  15. But the righteousness that is by faith says: “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’” (that is, to bring Christ down)
  16. Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but tremble.
  17. Not that we lord it over your faith, but we work with you for your joy, because it is by faith you stand firm.

  19. know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.

  22. Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God, because “the righteous will live by faith.”
  23. He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.
  24. So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith.
  25. For through the Spirit we eagerly await by faith the righteousness for which we hope.
