  3. Love the Lord Your God

    These are the commands, decrees and laws the Lord your God directed me to teach you to observe in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess,
  4. Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.
  5. Love and Obey the Lord

    Love the Lord your God and keep his requirements, his decrees, his laws and his commands always.

  8. because you carefully follow all these laws I command you today—to love the Lord your God and to walk always in obedience to him—then you are to set aside three more cities.
  9. For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess.
  10. But be very careful to keep the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the Lord gave you: to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to keep his commands, to hold fast to him and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.”
  11. Uriah said to David, “The ark and Israel and Judah are staying in tents, and my commander Joab and my lord’s men are camped in the open country. How could I go to my house to eat and drink and make love to my wife? As surely as you live, I will not do such a thing!”

  21. Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit

    “If you love me, keep my commands.
  22. Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”

  28. I am not commanding you, but I want to test the sincerity of your love by comparing it with the earnestness of others.
  29. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
  30. The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.
  31. Love and Hatred for Fellow Believers

    We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands.
  32. And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.
  33. And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.
  34. This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands.
  35. In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome,
  36. And now, dear lady, I am not writing you a new command but one we have had from the beginning. I ask that we love one another.
  37. And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.
