²⁷ But will God in very deed dwell on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded!

66 Thus saith Jehovah, Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: what manner of house will ye build unto me? and what place shall be my rest?

²³ Am I a God at hand, saith Jehovah, and not a God afar off? ²⁴ Can any hide himself in secret places so that I shall not see him? saith Jehovah. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith Jehovah.

⁴⁸ Howbeit the Most High dwelleth not in houses made with hands; as saith the prophet,

²⁷ that they should seek God, if haply they might feel after him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us: ²⁸ for in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain even of your own poets have said,

For we are also his offspring.
