³ Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you.^(A) Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.^(B)

⁴ “But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it.^(C)

The Sin Offering

²⁴ The Lord said to Moses, ²⁵ “Say to Aaron and his sons: ‘These are the regulations for the sin offering:^(A) The sin offering is to be slaughtered before the Lord^(B) in the place^(C) the burnt offering is slaughtered; it is most holy. ²⁶ The priest who offers it shall eat it; it is to be eaten in the sanctuary area,^(D) in the courtyard^(E) of the tent of meeting.^{(F) 27} Whatever touches any of the flesh will become holy,^(G) and if any of the blood is spattered on a garment, you must wash it in the sanctuary area. ²⁸ The clay pot^(H) the meat is cooked in must be broken; but if it is cooked in a bronze pot, the pot is to be scoured and rinsed with water. ²⁹ Any male in a priest’s family may eat it;^(I) it is most holy.^(J)

Peter’s Vision^(A)

⁹ About noon the following day as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the roof^(B) to pray. ¹⁰ He became hungry and wanted something to eat, and while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance.^{(C) 11} He saw heaven opened^(D) and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners. ¹² It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles and birds. ¹³ Then a voice told him, “Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.”

¹⁴ “Surely not, Lord!”^(E) Peter replied. “I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.”^(F)

¹⁵ The voice spoke to him a second time, “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.”^(G)

¹⁶ This happened three times, and immediately the sheet was taken back to heaven.

² down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life,^(A) bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.^(B)

The Branch From Jesse

¹² For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror;^(A) then we shall see face to face.^(B) Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.^(C)
