Message to Philadelphia

⁷ “And to the angel of the church in ^(A)Philadelphia write:

^(B)He who is holy, ^(C)who is true, who has ^(D)the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, and who shuts and no one opens, says this:

⁸ ‘^(E)I know your ^[a]deeds. Behold, I have put before you ^(F)an open door which no one can shut, because you have a little power, and have followed My word, and ^(G)have not denied My name.

⁹ for a ^(A)wide door ^[a]for effective service has opened to me, and ^(B)there are many adversaries.

¹² Now when I came to ^(A)Troas for the ^(B)gospel of Christ and when a ^(C)door was opened for me in the Lord,

^2 (A)Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving; ³ praying at the same time ^(B)for us as well, that God will open up to us a ^(C)door for ^(D)the word, so that we may proclaim ^(E)the mystery of Christ, for which I have also ^(F)been imprisoned; ⁴ that I may make it clear ^(G)in the way that I ought to proclaim it.

²⁷ When they had arrived and gathered the church together, they began to ^(A)report all the things that God had done with them and ^[a]how He had opened a ^(B)door of faith to the Gentiles.

4 ^(A)I solemnly exhort you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to ^(B)judge the living and the dead, and by His ^(C)appearing and His kingdom: ² preach ^(D)the word; be ready ^[a]in season and out of season; ^(E)correct, rebuke, and ^[b]exhort, with ^[c]great ^(F)patience and instruction.
