No Other Doctrine

³ As I urged you ^(A)when I went into Macedonia—remain in Ephesus that you may ^[a]charge some ^(B)that they teach no other doctrine, ^4 (C)nor give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which cause disputes rather than godly edification which is in faith.

Error and Greed

³ If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to ^(A)wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, ^(B)and to the ^[a]doctrine which accords with godliness, ⁴ he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions, ^5 [b]useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. ^[c]From ^(C)such withdraw yourself.

²³ But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife.

¹³ This testimony is true. ^(A)Therefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith, ¹⁴ not giving heed to Jewish fables and ^(B)commandments of men who turn from the truth.
